Well, as Qira's belly is growing her appetite is more selective. Now V&H grained meat no longer tempts her. But codfilet is a favourite. Since its low on calories, I had something new for her to eat - Rinti canned rawfood - high on calories and protein - and this she really liked! And I am happy that something at least fell in taste!
I hope she'll gain a bit more weight before puppies arrive. I prefer mothers to have a bit extra since the pups eat a lot and motherdog easily can become too thin as she breastfeeds. But I cannot force her to eat. She has normal good weight but not the extra kg or two which I hoped she'd gain.
Lately she prefers to spend more and more time in the puppyroom in the barn. She really seems more pleased being there than in the dogyard. I let her loose from the yard and she runs straight to the barn and stands by the door waiting for me to come open it. When well inside I can leave the doors open all the way and she has no plans whatsoever to leave -she seems content there. I can understand since she has her house, open secure window, sawdust allover the floor so its dry and cozy as it gets cleaned and changed every day, and raining buckets and very windy outside - the barn is much more tempting.
It is good that she is so comfortable there too, as this is were she'll be when giving birth. There is more than one puppy in her belly - thats for sure!! Ca 18 days to go now! Exciting!
